Buying property in Valldemossa
Valldemossa is one of Mallorca's most celebrated mountain villages, known for its Carthusian monastery, cobbled lanes and the green valley that surrounds it. At around 400 metres altitude in the Tramuntana, it is cooler than the coast and only about twenty five minutes from Palma — a combination that makes it more practical than its postcard image suggests.
The market consists of stone townhouses in the village core, and fincas and country houses scattered through the valley towards Palma. As in Deià, planning protection keeps supply tight, but Valldemossa's slightly larger size and better road connection give buyers marginally more choice.

The village lives from its plaza cafés, bakeries famous for coca de patata, and a cultural calendar anchored by the Chopin festival. Hiking and cycling routes leave directly from the village, and the north coast's coves are a short drive.
